Every NFL season introduces a new group of players hoping to become the league’s next stars.

The 2026 rookie class is already generating plenty of attention during the preseason. First-round selections are receiving significant opportunities, while later-round picks are battling for roster spots and playing time.

Among the quarterbacks, Fernando Mendoza has received enormous attention after being selected first overall by Las Vegas. Other rookies are also trying to establish themselves quickly, including running backs, receivers and defensive players expected to contribute immediately.

The preseason is particularly important for rookies because it provides their first opportunity to experience the speed and physicality of professional football.

Some have already impressed, while others are still adjusting.

The next few weeks will determine which rookies make their biggest push before final roster decisions are made. By the time the regular season begins, some of these players could already be household names.
